Friends of Farningham - The Great British Clean-up Saturday 5 June 2021
7th June 2021

Friends of Farningham had a very rewarding day on Saturday and were also delighted to welcome another new member to our group and the return of a long-standing member. Ken, Ray and Jacki worked on the riverside path from The Lion through to the A20 bridge, making it easier to walk through by cutting back the stinging nettles and any overhanging trees and bushes.
Viv, Irene and Charles cleared away the weeds from around the Village Hall and swept up while Linda, Betina, Vikki, Jason and Carol litter picked through Beesfield Lane into Maplescombe Lane and back. That was a long and hot walk but satisfying in more ways than one as we also had time to talk to each other and find out about our respective lives in the Village. Thanks to everyone - we did make a difference.
The next meet is on Wednesday, 16th June, 10am at the Village Hall where one of the projects could be to clear the weeds from Cinder Path, the footpath that links the High Street with Oliver Crescent.
Finally a big, big thanks to Carol from everyone in Farningham for organizing the day and all of Friends of Farningham's activities throughout the year!
