Message from The Space

23rd September 2024

We are so grateful for all the support from Farningham Parish Council. We want to ensure that everyone knows what is available to them.

DVCC started it off as a small warm hub, but 19 months later, the Space has become much more and is now a vital resource for Eynsford and Farningham, and surrounding areas, with excellent community involvement.

Citizens Advice

One new and exciting development is that we have a Citizens Advice Bureau member of staff in attendance on the first Wednesday of every month. We have also been provided with a dedicated hub that is a direct link to Citizens Advice for a face-to-face consultation. Initially, meetings will take place at The Space, but if more privacy is required, Rev Trudi Oliver has kindly offered a quiet place at St Martin's. The hub will also be available to anyone who needs it at any other time. (Adrian Elms 07908045445)

Internet Access and Skills

Each week, a volunteer at The Space can support people who need help using computers and tablets. We also have a laptop and iPad available for anyone who needs to access the internet. Once a month, we have additional support from Digital Kent. We can help people access e-consult in particular. We have a printer with scan/copy facilities if this is needed.

Local Police

We are visited regularly by our Ashleigh, our beat officer, who is very helpful in sorting out any issues that are raised.

Community Table

One person each week can sell local produce. (Please contact me to book)

Fish and Chips

Once a month we take orders in the morning and then pick up fish and chips from Sutton at Hone. This is very popular.

BBQ

Throughout the summer we hold a monthly BBQ

Children

There are activities and toys for all ages of children

Everyone

There are at least 10 different activities that are available each week. This includes, crafting, knitting, crochet, Board Games (Scrabble and Rummikub being the most popular!) Snooker and darts are also available.

We are open at Eynsford Riverside Club from 9-1, every Wednesday.

Breakfast from 9-10, Cakes and Coffee 10-12, and Ploughman’s lunch 12-1. (Homemade Soup in the winter)

Everyone is welcome to be part of this exciting project, it is your Space, so please make sure you use it!
